The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad has increased the number of check-in counters in the domestic terminal and established a special line for passengers with special needs, senior citizens and those flying with hand luggage, stated an official release on Thursday.
A dedicated team has been deployed to assist passengers in using the Common-Use Self-Service machines and more staff has been added at drop-off points to ensure efficient traffic management.
Six check-in counters were recently added to the airport and a new arrival hall with two baggage carousels is soon to be operational.
In comparison to December 2021, the airport saw an increase in passenger traffic of 36% and in aircraft movement of 16.5% during the month of December 2022. The average number of aircraft movements at the airport increased to 247 per day and daily passenger traffic at the airport increased to 33,000.
