Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel saved Mumbai-bound passenger at Ahmedabad airport on Tuesday.
A passenger in the security hold area named Narayan Chaudhary (50), who had become unconscious was saved by cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which was started right away by CISF sub-inspector Kapil Raghav.
Medical doctors later said Chaudhary had a heart attack and might have died if he hadn’t received prompt assistance.
According to airport officials, The incident happened on Tuesday morning when Chaudhary and his wife entered the security hold area after passing through the security checkpoint. While waiting there, Chaudhary’s health deteriorated.
“Raghav rushed to Chaudhary, who was lying on the floor and checked his pulse. When he did not respond, he was quick enough to perform CPR and after some efforts Chaudhary’s heart started to beat again and he gained consciousness,” said an official.
Raghav had received fundamental medical instruction as a part of his CISF training. While this was going on, CISF agents nearby called a nearby doctor to take care of Chaudhary’s medical needs.
According to airport staff, Chaudhary’s health did not appear to be in the best condition for flying, so he was denied boarding and representatives from Indigo Airlines rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
CISF has declared that it will award a certificate and a reward to Chaudhary for his commendable effort in saving a life. CISF Senior Commandant Rajesh at the Ahmedabad airport said, “Our main aim is to keep a watch on the safety and security of passengers. Raghav’s efforts in saving a life and putting to work his basic medical training at the right time has also set the right kind of example for everyone here. As per the CISF tradition, we will give him an award and a certificate as a reward.”
