The fourth edition of ‘Homecoming’, the annual alumni meet of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN), scheduled to be held on December 22-23, 2022, is going to be a memorable affair in more ways than one. Over the next two days, the Institute is going to host a number of events to make ‘Homecoming 2022’ memorable for its alumni and students.
It has been a decade since the first batch of IITGN graduated from the Institute, and to celebrate this momentous occasion, the Office of Alumni Relations at IITGN is organising the Decennial Reunion of the Pioneer Batch. IITGN takes immense pride in the success of its alumni, and to honour and recognise the achievements of its Alumni, the Institute had announced “Young Alumni Excellence Awards” earlier this year. The first felicitation ceremony of the Young Alumni Excellence Awardees will also be held on the first day of ‘Homecoming 2022’.
To compensate for the experience of attending physical Convocation ceremonies, which were held virtually for two consecutive years due to the global pandemic, IITGN has again taken a thoughtful initiative to hold a Grad Walk ceremony for the class of 2020 and 2021 on the second day of ‘Homecoming 2022’, where they will get a chance to flaunt their Convocation robes, do the formal Grad Walk to the auditorium, and capture memories with their friends and faculty members. Dr Anil Bhardwaj, Director of the Physical Research Laboratory, will attend the special ceremony as the Chief Guest.
Moreover, the event will also have interactive sessions between alumni, faculty, and current students of IITGN, and a sports event to nurture old and new bonds and help them revisit their college days at the Institute.
More than 200 IITGN alumni from different undergraduate and postgraduate batches from all over the world are going to visit IITGN during Homecoming 2022.
