RDE or Real Time Driving Emission Norms will be implemented for vehicles in India from April 2023. It is also referred as Phase 2 of the BS6 emission standards.
Petrol cars will see minor changes while diesel cars will be phased out by many manufacturers. Vehicles that do not meet the requirements will be banned from the roads beginning next year.
Real-Time Driving Emission:
A device will be installed in the vehicles to monitor the level of emissions in four-wheelers and commercial vehicles. New rules and regulations are being implemented now that the government has made it mandatory to check the emission levels in vehicles.
Vehicles must be equipped with a device that can monitor the emission level of a moving vehicle in order to meet advanced emission standards. In such case, the company’s production costs may rise. It will have the greatest impact on diesel vehicles. Many companies are considering discontinuing their vehicles in such a situation.
