In a heinous act, an Odia youth murdered his girlfriend in Surat for pressuring him for marriage. Surat City Crime Branch has arrested an Odia youth named Jagannath Gouda from Odisha for the murder of his girlfriend Kuni Das, who is also from Odisha. Jagannath brutally stabbed his girlfriend fifty times before dumping her body in a nearby farm in Surat’s Amroli district.
The Surat City Police Department successfully solved the case. According to Surat Police, the girl’s body was discovered few days ago in a farm near Surat. During investigation, a note written in Odia was discovered, confirming that the woman is from Odisha. She was seen with a youth identified as Jagannath during investigations and CCTV checks at the Railway Station. The youth was later arrested by police.
After being questioned, Jagannath Gowda admitted to killing the woman. He had been in a relationship with a woman named Kuni Das . The woman lived in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and was pressuring him to marry. Tired of this, the accused travelled to Odisha 15 days ago and brought woman by train to Surat. He took her to nearby farm and murdered her by stabbing her fifty times. During Police interrogation, Jagannath is said to have confessed that he was in a relationship with Kuni Das for the past three years.
