A massive fire broke out at a godown on Thursday in Gujarat village, Kheda district and was brought under control after five hours.
The fire broke out at Jalam Trading which is located near telephone exchange on Ahmedabad-Vadodara highway (NH 8). At least 20 tonnes of raw material were stored in the warehouse. When the fire broke out, there was also animal fodder being transported to other states in the godown.
According to Fire Supritendent Dixit Patel, the fire broke out at 4 a.m. and four Nadiad fire tenders arrived in time to put it out.
No fatalities have been reported so far. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
The godown lacked the necessary equipment to prevent any fire incidents.
