The Met Department has predicted unseasonal rain in parts of Gujarat on Thursday and Friday as a result of a low depression that has formed over the East Central and adjoining South East Arabian Sea.
According to the forecast, a low depression has formed about 500 kilometres south-west of Panjim and is expected to move north-west of Oman away from the Gujarat coast and intensify into a deep depression.
Wind speeds in the Comorin area will increase to 35 to 45 kmph as a result of the development.
Fishermen have been advised not to go out on the water for the next few days.
Farmers in Amreli, Rajkot, Junagadh in Saurashtra and South Gujarat have been advised to take adequate precautions against unseasonal rains.
Since the last two days, some parts have witnessed drizzles. Crops in these areas may be harmed by heavy rain.
