People who were affected by the coronavirus but did not require special treatment will experience mild to moderate reparatory illness. Some, however, will become critically ill and require medical attention.
According to the World Health Organization, coronavirus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing, or breathe (WHO). These particles range in size from large respiratory droplets to tiny aerosols. Since the COVID pandemic began three years ago, the virus and its symptoms have evolved.
According to the ZOE health study, “traditional” symptoms such as loss of smell (anosmia), shortness of breath, and fever are no longer common.
The most recent ZOE Health Study data revealed the following new common 10 COVID symptoms:
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Runny nose
- Sneezing
- Cough without phlegm
- Blocked nose
- Cough with phlegm
- Hoarse voice
- Muscle aches and pains
- An altered sense of smell
The WHO stated that being “well informed about the disease and how the virus spreads” is the best way to prevent and slow down transmission. Stay at least one metre apart from others to protect yourself and others from infection.” Wear a properly fitted mask and wash your hands frequently, or use an alcohol-based rub”. When it’s your turn, get vaccinated and follow local recommendations.
