TiE Ahmedabad Chapter launched TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) on Sunday, an experiential programme for high school students in grades 9 through 12 to learn problem-solving, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The TiE Global initiative will assist students in putting their ideas into action through start-ups. The new batch, which will last until March 2023, includes 32 students from 17 different schools.
According to TiE Ahmedabad officials, last year’s TYE programme (2021-22) was a success, and this year, Minister of Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrashekhar launched the new programme in India in October.
The programme groups students into groups that go through classroom session modules covering various aspects of business and entrepreneurship. The groups then create business plans.
“Teams first compete at the chapter level finals and the winner of each chapter goes to the Global Competition to compete for $10,000 in cash prizes,” the official said.
Local entrepreneurs, business professionals, parents, youth, coaches, and mentors are all part of the program.
In his address to the participants, TiE Ahmedabad President Jatin Trivedi urged them to pursue their vision with passion and to listen to their inner calling as this was the path to success.
“At TYE, we aim to inspire, challenge and empower high school students to become the next generation entrepreneurs and business leaders,” Trivedi said.
Chiranjiv Patel, MD of PC Snehal Group, inspired the students by sharing his entrepreneurial journey.
