Customs officials stopped Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Saturday after the covers of expensive watches were recovered from him.
According to a report, SRK arrived in Mumbai from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, where he was the honorary guest of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2022.
According to Air Intelligence Unit sources, the King Khan was stopped by customs officials because he was carrying covers for luxury watches worth Rs 18 lakh.
He was then required to pay a penalty custom duty of Rs 6.83 lakh before being allowed to leave the airport.
He made headlines in 2011 when he was interrogated by a team of customs officials for carrying excess baggage and failing to declare duty-paying foreign goods, and was fined Rs 1.5 lakh.
In the meantime, SRK is preparing for the release of his spy thriller ‘Pathaan.’ The film, which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, is set to be released on January 25, 2023.
He also has ‘Jawan’ and ‘Dunki’ in the pipeline, as well as a cameo in Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’.
