A team of Ahmedabad investigators will travel to the forests of Odisha to track down and apprehend the supplier of the Ganja that was seized at the Ahmedabad Railway Station on Wednesday.
On Wednesday morning, the Government Railway Police (GRP) nabbed a man with 25.265 kg of Ganja worth Rs2.52 lakh at Kalupur railway station. Cops searched the man’s bag after noticing his suspicious demeanour and discovered the Ganja in his possession.
The man, Prameshkumar Ram Paswan, originally belongs to Bihar and arrived in Gujarat aboard the Puri-Ahmedabad Express at about 6:30 AM. He was booked for possession of drugs with intent to distribute under various sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The case was then handed over to the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the GRP Ahmedabad.
Primary interrogation revealed that he received the consignment from a supplier named Santlal for transport to Gujarat. Officials said that the supplier was located deep in the forests of Koraput district of Odisha.
According to PI SV Vasava, a team was formed to search for and apprehend the supplier, and further investigation is ongoing in the case.
