At Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport on Thursday, as a result of heavy VIP movement brought on by the Defense Expo 2022 being held in Gandhinagar, as many as 10 passenger flights were delayed.
The majority of the VIP movements involved delegates coming back from the DefExpo, which involved a lot of chartered flights. The IAF helicopters’ movement also contributed to the delay.
Two SpiceJet flights were delayed, one of which was delayed by over six hours. Two flights to Mumbai, three to Delhi, and one each to Bangalore, Jaipur, Kolkata and Dehradun were delayed.
