11th October, Ahmedabad, Gujarat,the 8th and 9th of October 2022 saw the conclusion of the Ahmedabad International Literature Festival, which had as its theme “Humans, Nature, and the Future” and was held at the Centre for Environment Education in Ahmedabad.
Dr. SK Nanda, IAS (Retd. ), renowned Hindi film lyricist Sameer Anjaan, Padma Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai, Australian author, researcher, and multimedia artist Kathryn Hummel, and festival founder Umashanker Yadav all gave opening addresses at the event.
These festivals, according to Umashanker Yadav, are part of a country’s cultural infrastructure because they provide a stage for its people to express their emotions and foster creativity while also fostering the creative industries.
In a conversation with Ravi Yadav about a variety of topics related to film songs and his life journey, Sameer Anjaan stated that he sometimes uses inspiration from even a single word or brief exchange from anyone in his daily life for creative purposes.
In an interview with Umashanker Yadav and Suhail Mathur, renowned actor, producer, and author of the book “Bachelor Dad” discussed the challenges and rewards of being a single parent. Additionally, he mentioned how his management degree is now useful in running his film production company.
When Capt (Hony) Yogendra Singh Yadav, the youngest Indian to receive the Param Vir Chakra, recounted his valiant battle to capture Tiger Hill during the Kargil War, the audience became incredibly patriotic and proud.
Dr. Bhagwandas Patel, a well-known and accomplished author of Gujarati, outlined the tales of the tribal people who lived in isolated rural areas. In the session on regional literature, Wangthoi Khuman discussed Manipuri and northeastern literature.
Umashanker Yadav, the festival’s director, thanked Gujarat Tourism for being the festival’s patron in this edition, GMDC for being the silver sponsor, Ikon Barcode Solutions Pvt. Ltd. for providing the festival’s power, and the Center for Environment Education for being the venue partner while promising to continue putting on bigger and better shows in the future. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to all of the festival’s participants.
