The local civic officials have announced that there will now be a charge for on-street parking on Sindhu Bhavan Road.
According to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) solicitation, the city will begin charging Rs. 5 per hour for two-wheeler parking and Rs. 15 for the first two hours for four-wheeler parking.
The financially precarious municipal organisation hopes to make Rs 21 lakh from this.
According to AMC, there is no immediate need to charge for on-street parking because the majority of the establishments and households along Sindhu Bhavan Road have suitable parking places.
According to the tender published by the estate division of the AMC’s North West Zone, the starting bidder would receive a three-year contract with a base price of Rs 21.29 lakh.
According to the tender, the company would have access to 108 two-wheeler spaces and 428 four-wheeler spaces on a 3.25 km length of road known as Sindhu Bhavan Road, beginning at Pakwan Crossroads on SG Road. On October 7, the bids will be disclosed.
The civic organisation has also released five further bids for park management and on-street payment.
These agreements cover parking on the streets in Memnagar between Gujarat Vidyapith and the AMC pool, between Navrang Circle and Dadasaheb Na Pagla Crossroads, between Chirag Motors and the Madalpur Underpass on the left side of the street, and between Shahwadi Canal and Vasna Party Plot on the right side of the street.
