The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) plans to rename its AMC MET medical college of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The AMC standing committee has proposed renaming the college Narendra Modi Medical College. On Thursday, a proposal in this regard was presented to the committee meeting.
AMC Medical Education Trust runs AMC MET College at the LG hospital compound in Maninagar. It was the assembly constituency of Gujarat’s then-chief minister, Narendra Modi.
The medical college currently offers postgraduate courses on its 170 seats. The AMC executive meeting was held on September 14, and the decision to rename the medical college as Narendra Modi Medical College was unanimously taken in the meeting.
Today’s standing committee meeting approved the proposal.
