Heavy and prolonged rain Ahmedabad has seen an increase in swine flu cases this month, with 586 cases and three deaths reported as of Thursday.
The highest number of flu cases (586) were reported in August, according to data from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). In July, 30 cases of swine flu were reported, with no deaths.
According to AMC data, the west zone of Ahmedabad had the most cases in August, accounting for 194 cases. The northwest zone came in second with 165 cases.
The southwest zone had the next highest number of cases, accounting for 86. In terms of fatalities, the west, northwest, and north zones each had one.
AMC reported two cases of flu in June, as well as one each in February and April, but no deaths were reported. Three cases were reported in zones outside AMC’s limits.
