The complainant stated that junior MBBS students were even pressured into performing indecent acts, such as having sex with their batchmates and pillows.
They were also forced to wear condoms with their names on them as ‘Medical ID’ to enter the flats where seniors abused junior students. The college authorities turned over the case to the police because of the serious nature of the complaint.

“Juniors were also forced to slap each other and were beaten by seniors if they didn’t.” In the flats, mobile phones were also kept away from them so that nothing could be recorded. Seniors also commented on the body, figure, and skin colour of the junior batch’s female students. Such activities are traumatising and have made them mentally unstable, leading to suicidal thoughts,” according the complaint.
The complaint was filed with the UGC’s anti-ragging cell, which forwarded it to the Dean of MGM Medical College, after which the anti-ragging committee advised the authorities to file a police report.
“The complainant also provided screenshots of the chats, an audio recording, and the addresses of the flats where they were being ragged.” According to sources, the complaint was lodged by one student, and the accused could be a group of 7-8 senior students.
Meanwhile, dean of MGM Medical College Dr Sanjay Dixit said, “We held a meeting of the anti-ragging committee immediately after getting the complaint from UGC. Our committee found the complaint of ragging to be true, prima facie, after which we immediately handed over the case to the police.
