The conditions are favourable for the Southwest monsoon to continue its advance into Gujarat and the remaining parts of the Arabian Sea.
Over the next 48 hours, the monsoon will also reach some areas of Rajasthan, the remaining regions of Madhya Pradesh, the entirety of Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also predicted rainfall activity in several states due to the advancement of the monsoon.
In its weather bulletin, the IMD, said, “Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall & isolated thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana-Chandigarh, Punjab, East Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh during 29th June-01st July and with isolated/scattered rainfall activity over Jammu & Kashmir and West Rajasthan during next 5 days.”
Rainfall is also predicted over Konkan and Goa and southern states, including, Kerala and Karnataka over the coming few days. The MeT Department said, “Widespread rainfall & thunderstorm/lightning with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely over Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity over Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra and Interior Karnataka during next 5 days.”
Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal will also witness fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms or lightning over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during the next five days. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will also witness heavy rainfall on June 30.
Meanwhile, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning are very likely over northeast India over the next few days.
