The Union Health Ministry reported 14,506 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s total to 4,34,33,345.
Meanwhile, 30 deaths have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of reported deaths to 5,25,077.
India’s active caseload stood at 99,602. In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 2,902. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.56 per cent, the health ministry said.
A total of 11,574 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 4,28,08,666 across the country.
The top five states which registered maximum cases were Maharashtra with 3,482 cases, followed by Kerala with 2,993 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,484 cases, Karnataka with 968 cases and West Bengal with 954 cases.
The five states accounted for 68.11 per cent of the new cases, with Maharashtra alone responsible for 24 per cent of the new cases.
India administered a total of 13,44,788 doses in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,97,46,57,138.
A total of 4,73,717 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
