The daytime temperature in Ahmedabad dropped to 39.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday, a drop of about 1 degree Celsius from the previous day’s 41.4 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall occurred at isolated places over Gujarat region and Saurashtra.
Meanwhile, Vadodara registered a maximum temperature of 38.6 degrees Celsius, Both Deesa and Rajkot recorded 38.4 degrees C, Bhuj recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius and Surat registered a maximum temperature of 33.2 degrees Celsius.
The highest maximum temperature in the region was 42°C, which was recorded in Surendranagar.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30- 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light to moderate rain very likely at isolated places in all the districts of South Gujarat region and in Daman & Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Gandhinagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar; in the district of Saurashtra namely Bhavnagar, Botad, Rajkot, Gir Somnath, Junagadh, Amreli and in Diu for nnext five days.
Dry weather very likely in the remaining districts of North Gujarat region and Saurashtra- Kutch.
