People of Ahmedabad demands helicopter joyride to be extended

The current vacation has helped fill the seats on the Ahmedabad helicopter joyride, which gives passengers an aerial view of the city. Now after a fun joyride and having a wonderful experience of seeing the magnificent view of the city people are demanding to increase days of the helicopter joyride services by two more days per week.

Business News

Yashpal Rathod, manager of Aerostat, which manages the joyride, said his company and Aerotrans started the first helicopter joyride in January this year.

“The ride is available on Saturday and Sunday every week with five batches that provide 15 rides. In a single day, a total of 75 passengers can take the ride and each passenger is charged Rs 2360,” said Rathod

He said so far 600 passengers have taken the 10-minute ride, the booking for which is done online.

In the 10 minutes, passengers get an aerial view of Sabarmati Riverfront, the Adalaj Stepwell, the Narendra Modi Stadium and the Science City among other important landmarks.

He said thanks to the summer vacation more people are keen to take the ride.

“Since the bookings can be done online, the slots get filled up fast. The rides are available only for two days in a week and so many have demanded that it should be extended,” said Rathod.

South Bopal resident Bhavdeep Turkhiya said he tried to book the tickets for the joyride twice and only got lucky the third time. “We had relatives who had come from Bhopal and we took them out for the joyride. They loved it. We think the ride should be available for more days,” said Turkhiya.
