The maximum temperature in Ahmedabad unexpectedly rose to 41.4 degrees Celsius on Friday, an increase of over 2 degree Celsius over the previous day’s temperature of 39.6 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Deesa registered a maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius, Vadodara recorded 38.2 degrees C, Rajkot recorded 37.4 degrees Celsius and Bhuj recorded of 34.8 degrees Celsius while Surat registered a maximum temperature of 32.8 degrees Celsius
42ºC was the highest maximum temperature in the region recorded at Gandhinagar.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30- 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light to moderate rain very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Ahmedabad, Valsad, Navsari, Daman & Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the district of Saurashtra namely Bhavnagar for the next five days.
In addition, dry weather is expected in the remaining districts of Gujarat and Saurashtra, including Kutch and Diu.
