On the occasion of World Cycle Day, Revenue Minister Rajendra Trivedi and Health Minister Rushikesh Patel inaugurated the Cyclothon in Ahmedabad this morning. Mantavya News organised the event to raise awareness about two important issues: Cycling For Health and Organ Donation.
Patel spoke at the event, emphasising the importance of good health and how cycling is a great way to commute while also getting in a day’s worth of exercise. He also discussed organ donation and how it is an important step in saving lives. He urged people to recognise the significance of this action and to take the necessary steps to help the society.
During the event, the leaders spread awareness regarding organ donation while cycling around different areas in the city. Several people who had been given a new life through organs donated by generous souls were also present at the event.
The Cyclothon started at 6:00 am this morning from Riverfront, went along Vallabhsadan, Ashram Road, Usmanpura Underpass, CG Road, Parimal Garden, Town Hall and returned back via Ashram Road to Riverfront.
The event was attended by Ahmedabad City Mayor Kirit Parmar and Dilip Deshmukh, a prominent figure in the organ donation movement. There were superintendents, directors, and deans from various hospitals in attendance, as well as social workers and activists who promote organ donation awareness.
