Jet Airways conducted its first set of three proving flights on Sunday, with 18 people on board, including four cabin crew members, two pilots, and 12 others, including DGCA officials and Jet Airways senior executives.
The first three proving flights were conducted on the Delhi-Mumbai route.
The second flight was supposed to return to Delhi, but after it left for Mumbai, DGCA officials asked the pilots to divert the flight to Ahmedabad to see if the new airlines were prepared to handle such a situation.
Jet Airways successfully landed safely in Ahmedabad. Further, sometime later, the third flight test was conducted on the Ahmedabad-Delhi route.
The first set of three proving flights was Boeing 737 aircraft with registration number VT-SXE of Jet Airways.
An aircraft is required to operate a total of five landings to complete its proving flights. Jet Airways finished the three landings on Sunday, while two landings will be done on Tuesday.
It should be noted that proving flights are the airline’s final step in obtaining an air operator certificate (AOC).
