While Amdavadis experienced one of the hottest Aprils in recent memory, a brief respite from the heat was felt in the first week of May.
The temperature has risen to 44 degrees Celsius once more. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat warning for Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Patan, Surendranagar, and Kutch until Wednesday morning.
The IMD has also forecast that the maximum temperature over the state will consistently remain high till Thursday. Thereafter, a fall in temperature is likely for a couple of days.
On Monday, Ahmedabad remained the second hottest place in the state with 43.1 degree Celsius whereas Surendranagar led the chart with 44 degree C. Amreli, Vadodara and Gandhinagar recorded 42.8 degree C and Rajkot remained the fourth hottest at 42.7 degree C.
