The National Institute of Design (NID) in Gujarat reported 24 Covid-19 cases, with 178 students quarantined and two hospitalised.
The Ahmedabad municipal corporation declared the varsity a micro containment zone on Sunday.
After Gujarat National Law University in Gandhinagar, this is the second time that a huge number of Covid cases have been reported by an educational institute. At its peak, the GNLU had 162 active cases, now it is Covid free.
According to sources, foreign students at the institute were among those who tested positive.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Gujarat recorded 37 new cases. Ahmedabad recorded 34 of these, while Jamnagar and Vadodara each recorded one case. A single case has been reported from rural Gujarat.
