Gujarat Police now has an armour – Video Integration & State Wide Advanced Security – to prevent crimes and provide security to the state of Gujarat (VISWAS).
This CCTV camera network assists the police department with detection, investigation, and evidence collection. It has also aided in simple traffic management and enforcement.
The VISWAS Project was inaugurated by the Government of Gujarat on 11th Jan 2020, at the hands of Home Minister of India, Shri Amit Shah.
S.P, Patan, Shri Vijaykumar Patel informed that, “Under this VISWAS project of the State Government, a NETRAM Command and Control Center is also functioning in Patan district. Around 274 cameras have been installed, which includes ANPR, Fix Cameras & PTZ Cameras. Using this Camera, around 150 undetected crimes were figured out. It helps in maintaining law & Order, major arrangements or planning, big rallies, catching criminals in the crimes of theft & robbery where they run away from the city along with the traffic management.”
