A heartwarming scene of brotherhood was seen in a school in Surat, where Hindu students accompanied Muslim students in breaking their Roza during Ramzan.
On the one hand, politics is being played in the name of religion in one state, while on the other hand, people are displaying a spirit of togetherness in another. A leading news agency shared a photo on social media of students from a government primary school in Surat coming together for an Iftar regardless of religion.
A special iftar was organized for the Muslim children of the school during the holy month of Ramadan. This happened in the Zankarda village of Surat.
According to Shah Md Shaheed Ismail, a teacher at the school, students save money and celebrate each other’s festivals. Similarly, he stated that during Diwali, Muslim students raise funds to purchase firecrackers and sweets for Hindu students.
According to Ismail, school is the first place where students learn proper etiquette. He believes that, in addition to education, teaching about different cultures in schools is essential.
This news comes at a time when differences between Hindus and Muslims are at an all-time high.
Several states’ Ram Navami celebrations took a less-than-harmonious turn when clashes erupted during the procession, including Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Gujarat. Stone pelting occurred in both Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand, causing half a dozen people to be injured.
