As the daily COVID-19 cases are decreasing in the country, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to have multiple venues for IPL 2022 Playoffs.
While the IPL matches are being conducted in Maharashtra to avoid air travel, the BCCI is thinking of having multiple venues for playoffs with the final on May 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
According to a report a senior BCCI official said “We are yet to finalise the venues but yes, multiple venues is definitely under discussion. The Covid situation is under control and we haven’t had any Covid cases in the bio-bubble or before joining the bubble in India. That’s a positive sign. We will finalise the venues by next week,”
The BCCI has only released fixtures for the league matches and playoffs are yet to be finalised. Now as the league stage of IPL 2022 is progressing well, the BCCI will decided the rest of the scheduling.
The BCCI on March 6 had announced that the final game of the league stage will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings on May 22 at the Wankhede Stadium.
The schedule for the Playoffs and the TATA IPL 2022 final to be played on May 29 will be announced later.
