Rajendra Trivedi, a local member of legislative assembly (MLA) and state revenue minister, announced today that the Gujarat government will establish the second Science City in Vadodara.
Trivedi stated that his efforts were successful and that a decision was made to build a Rs. 100 crore Science City in Vadodara during the Sujalam Sufalam water conservation movement’s event in the Waghodia area of Vadodara.
It’s worth noting that Ahmedabad, which is over 100 kilometres away, has one of India’s best Science Cities. The state government announced plans to build an Anthropology and Biology Gallery at the Science City in Ahmedabad at a cost of €250 crores in its annual budget last month, with a provision of 45 crores set aside for the coming year.
A total of 25 crores has been set aside in the state budget for the development of Regional Science Centres in Surat, Jamnagar, and Junagadh, as well as District Science Centres in 25 districts.
Despite the fact that there is no provision in the budget for the proposed Science City in Vadodara, Trivedi, who is not the Minister of Science and Technology, made the announcement today.
