Australian cricket icon, Shane Warne, dies of ‘suspected heart attack’, aged 52.
“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” Warne’s management confirmed in a statement to the Australian media.
“The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
Warne is the greatest leg-spinner of all time, having taken 708 Test match wickets. The news is the second devastating blow for cricket fans within 24 hours as Former Australia wicketkeeper Rod Marsh died on Friday following a heart attack last week in Queensland.
