A fire that broke out at an Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) parking spot in the Gota area of the city on Friday afternoon, destroyed as many as 36 two-wheelers.
Around 11:30 a.m., a fire was reported in the open parking lot of the AMC New West Zone, according to an official from the AMC’s Fire Safety department.
Three fire tenders were dispatched to the scene, and firefighters were able to put out the fire in less than half an hour.
“A total of 36 bikes were gutted in the fire accident while we managed to save 600 other vehicles in the same parking lot. The cause of the fire remains unknown as we don’t have an eye witness,” said Inayat Shaikh, divisional officer, Fire Safety Department, AMC.
