On February 9, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officially took over security at Surat International Airport.
The long-pending demand for CISF cover at the airport has been met, and it will go a long way toward strengthening the security cover of the airport, which is surrounded by the coastal belt and the presence of massive industries in Hazira.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has authorised 360 CISF personnel for the Surat airport, of which approximately 237 have been deployed.
The CISF induction ceremony was held at the Surat International Airport in the presence of Gujarat’s Home Minister, Harsh Sanghavi, and Gujarat BJP Chief, CR Paatil. Surat Mayor Hemali Boghawala and Standing Committee Chairman Paresh Patel were also present.
The highly trained CISF personnel from the Airport Security Group (ASG) demonstrated their security skills at the handover ceremony, winning the hearts of many in attendance.
Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi tweeted, “The security of Surat airport is handed over to CISF, a pleasure to be present at the induction ceremony held today in the presence of BJP State President, CR Paatil and other dignitaries”
