Gujarat schools will remain closed for Classes 1 to 9 until February 05, 2022, due to Covid-19 pandemic. Schools have been asked by the state government to continue offering online classes until February 5, 2022.
Several international organisations have stated that schools should continue to hold physical classes because the loss of learning will continue for several years if schools remain closed.
UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore issued a statement urging governments around the world to keep schools open in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic because students cannot wait any longer.
“As the Omicron variant of Covid-19 spreads around the world, we urge governments to do everything possible to prevent it from disrupting children’s education,” UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore said.
As a result, several states have decided to reopen schools on February 1 or the first week of February. Telangana, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana, and Chandigarh are among the states that have allowed schools to reopen as of next month.
