The state recorded a sharp dip in temperature on Friday. Naliya was the coldest with a minimum temperature of 5°C.
Gandhinagar, Keshod and Baroda had a minimum temperature of 8°C while Deesa reaches 9°C.
Ahmedabad recorded the minimum temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius.
Generally, the temperature begins to rise by the end of January. However, heavy snow has been observed in the Northern parts of the country due to the late arrival of an intense Western Disturbance. As a result, northerly winds are blowing over the region, and minimum temperatures are settling well below normal, resulting in an intensified winter chill.
Cold wave conditions are expected to last during this week and may even extend further in February
