A major fire accident was averted at Mumbai airport after a pushback tow van caught fire near an aircraft on Monday The plane, an Air India AI-647, was carrying 85 passengers to Jamnagar, Gujarat.
The incident occurred this afternoon at 1 p.m., as the van was preparing to tow an aircraft out of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).
However, as thick fumes were seen billowing out of the conflagration, an airport fire brigade team in the vicinity managed to extinguish the flames on the pushback truck within barely 10 minutes.
