The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has launched the Sanjivani telemedicine service on Saturday, January 8 in response to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the city.
The vast majority of active cases involve patients receiving treatment at home.
Sanjivani Corona home care service teams visit these patients on a regular basis to check their vitals and administer any necessary medications. They also give them advice on whether or not they should be admitted to the hospital.
However, for those seeking additional guidance from experts, the AMC started the telemedicine helpline on Saturday.
The instruction to launch the helpline was given at a meeting held by state health minister Rushikesh Patel.
Patients in Ahmedabad can call on 14499 to get tele-consultation for Covid-19 treatment. They will be put in touch with doctors who will provide necessary medical guidance on phone.
The service will be available round the clock.
