Gujarat imposes night curfew in 10 major cities

A new guideline on rising Corona virus cases has been announced at a core committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

According to this policy, night curfews in Gujarat have been implemented in the following cities: Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, and Jamnagar, in addition to Anand and Nadiad. These ten cities will be subject to a curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Certain activities are permitted during the night curfew, according to the government,

The following should be taken into account during the night curfew:

  • Sick persons, pregnant women, disabled persons will be allowed to move with the attendant for treatment.
  • Passengers will have to be allowed to travel by presenting train, airport, ST or city bus tickets.
  • No public functions like political, social, educational, cultural, religious events may be held during the night curfew period.
  • Citizens / officers / employees associated with the required service will have to submit the required identity card on demand.
  • In case of unavoidable circumstances, the persons who have come out will have to give permission for movement by presenting their identity card, doctor’s prescription, treatment papers and other evidence.
  • The officer / employee on duty should show humane attitude along with the persons who have gone out in unavoidable circumstances.

The following services / activities may be continued during the night curfew period:

  • Services directly associated with the operation of COVID-19 as well as essential / urgent services.
  • Medical, paramedical and allied health services.
  • Oxygen production and distribution system.
  • Internet / Telephone / Mobile Service Provider / IT And IT. Related Services
  • Print and Electronic Media, Newspaper Distribution.
  • Petrol, Diesel, LPG / CNG / PNG Related Pumps, Operation of Production Unit, Port of Loading, Terminal Deposits, Plants and Related Transportation, Distribution and Repairing Services
  • Post and courier service
  • Private Security Service
  • Services related to animal feed, fodder and medicine and treatment of animals.
  • Production, transportation and supply arrangements for agricultural operations, pest control and other essential services
  • All the services related to transportation, storage and distribution of the above essential items.
  • Transport services related to transportation, storage and distribution of trade / services in interstate, inter-district and inter-city and related e-commerce services.
  • All types of manufacturing / industrial units and units supplying raw materials to them will continue and transportation for their staff will continue. In the meantime, strictly follow the COVID-19 guidelines.
  • Construction related activities will continue during which the guidelines regarding COVID-19 will have to be strictly followed.
