The state government signed 39 MoUs (Memorandums of Understanding) on Monday, including one for the construction of a green renewable hydrogen facility, a lithium refinery, and the production of bullet proof jackets, pistols, and battle tanks, ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat summit.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Manikaran Lithium Pvt Ltd for the establishment of the first lithium refinery to produce battery-grade lithium, with an estimated investment of USD 300 million. Last year, the Indian Express reported on the company’s plans to build the country’s first lithium refinery in Sanand or Dholera, with lithium ore imported from countries such as Australia.
A green renewable hydrogen facility in Ahmedabad, the first of its kind in Gujarat, and an agreement with Squawk Aviation Pvt Ltd for a flying training facility at Amreli airport are among the other MoUs signed.
The government also signed an agreement with Star Defence Logistics and Engineering, a Spanish company, to build a facility in Ahmedabad that can produce bulletproof jackets, pistols, and tanks. The state government has already signed 135 memorandums of understanding ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat summit, which will take place from January 10 to 12.
