In the third edition of the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2021, five universities and higher education institutes from Gujarat were among the top ten in various categories.
Under the All India University and Deemed to be University (Government and Government aided) (technical) category, Gujarat Technological University (GTU) Ahmedabad was ranked seventh, while Gujarat University (GU) Ahmedabad was ranked ninth.
In the college/institutes (Government and Government Aided) (technical) category, LD College of Engineering Ahmedabad was ranked third, while Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India was ranked first in the General (non-technical) category.
In the category of private/self-financed universities, Pandit Deendayal Energy University Gandhinagar was ranked fifth.
“The state’s largest technical university has launched an ambitious plan to expand innovation activities in the coming days,” GTU vice-chancellor Prof Navin Sheth said.
In the General (Non-Technical) Category, EDII was ranked first. “EDII is the only Gujarati institute to be ranked first in all seven categories. “These awards not only motivate us, but they also demonstrate how entrepreneurship is gaining traction,” said EDII director general Dr. Sunil Shukla.
Only two universities from Gujarat were ranked in the top five public-funded institutes for start-up projects and entrepreneurship by the Ministry of Education’s Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) in 2020.
