Ahmedabad’s ISKCON has launched ‘Gita Rath’ in which a chariot departing from Ahmedabad will travel through Gujarat’s villages, distributing the Bhagavad Gita.
The primary goal of this Rath is to raise awareness about the significance of the holy book Gita. Its goal is to get people to read the book. Harinam Sankirtan will be performed by a few Rath members in each village in addition to the book distribution.
A senior ascetic Vaishnava Swami of the ISKCON temple Vrindavan gave the programme its start. The devotees also agreed to distribute 1.5 lakh Bhagavad Gitas by the end of the month.
