Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently riding a new beast. PM Modi’s wheels have been upgraded to a Mercedes-Maybach S650 from a Range Rover Vogue and a Toyota Land Cruiser.
On his short visit to India, Prime Minister Modi was seen for the first time in his new Maybach 650 armoured car at Hyderabad House, where he met Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard is the most recent facelifted model, featuring VR10 level protection, the highest level ever offered in a production car.
S650 is said to cost more than 12 crore, according to reports.
The S650 Guard’s body and windows can withstand bullets with a hardened steel core. It has a 2010 Explosion Proof Vehicle (ERV) rating, which means it can withstand a 15kg TNT explosion from a distance of only 2 metres.
In the event of a gas attack, the cabin has its own air supply.
The Special Protection Group or SPG, responsible for protecting the head of state of the country, usually submits the request for a new car.
As the Gujarat chief minister, PM Modi travelled in a bulletproof Mahindra Scorpio. After taking over as the Prime Minister in 2014, he used BMW 7 Series High-Security Edition.
