After Madhya Pradesh, Night curfew to be in force from 11 pm to 5 am daily in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Gandhinagar and Junagadh from 25th December, in view of current COVID19 situation said Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office.
The Omicron cases are rising in India with 122 new cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 358. Central government has asked state government to be vigilant and increase vaccination drive and door to door testing.
Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of 88 cases of the Omicron variant, followed by Delhi with 67, Telangana 38, Tamil Nadu 34, Karnataka 31. While and Gujarat recorded 30 Omicron cases till now with 5 recoveries.
Gujarat reported 111 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases to 8,28,905, while two more patients died from the infection, according to the state’s health department.
The state’s death toll now stands at 10,108, according to a release from the department.
After 78 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, the total number of recoveries reached 8,18,129, according to the report.
Gujarat currently has 668 active coronavirus cases, with 12 patients on ventilators.
