The minimum temperature at Naliya in Kutch reached 3.8 degrees Celsius, one of the lowest temperatures recorded at any weather station in Gujarat this year. Both Bhuj and Kandla, the two other weather stations in Kutch, reported sub-10-degree minimum temperatures of 9 and 7.5 degrees due to cold wave conditions.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the cold wave is expected to last three days in Saurashtra and Kutch (IMD). On Friday, the IMD issued a severe cold wave alert for the Kutch district, as well as a for Rajkot, Porbandar, Amreli, and Jamnagar, Banaskantha on Saturday and Sunday.
The maximum temperature was 28.9 degrees Celsius, which was 0.4 degrees lower than normal.
