Rajasthan is expanding its train network at a rapid pace. The railway tracks between Udaipur-Phulera-Jaipur and Udaipur-Sarai Rohilla-Delhi have now been electrified. After that, the Udaipur-Ahmedabad electric train will soon run between the two cities. Super connectivity between Rajasthan and Gujarat may improve after this project is completed.
The work on electrifying this route should be completed by 2023. The routes between Udaipur and Jaipur, as well as Ahmedabad and Maharashtra, have been electrified, according to the information.
Only 299 kilometres of the Udaipur-Ahmedabad rail line have yet to be electrified. On electrified tracks, trains will be able to travel at 120 km per hour. The journey from Udaipur to Ahmedabad will now take up to two hours less after this project is completed.
On the Udaipur-Ahmedabad route, an electric train is expected to arrive soon. In the Himmatnagar section, work on this has also begun. According to information received from the Railways, the project was originally scheduled to be completed in December 2019.
The Railways then decided to increase it and finish it by December 2020. After that, due to Corona, the work on this project came to a halt. This project’s work is currently on hold until 2021. The Railways have now set a deadline of 2022 to complete the project.
