A 21-year-old man was allegedly crushed to death by women’s family members after he refused to marry his fiancé, with whom he was in a live-in relationship for over a year.
Sanjay Bhusara, a native of Aslona village in the Kaprada taluka of Gujarat’s Valsad district, was allegedly taken captive by the girl’s family on Tuesday and beaten in front of people. Members of Bhusara’s family attempted to interfere, but were defeated.
On social media, a video of the incident has gone viral.
After learning about the occurrence, the Kaprada police arrived on the scene and sent the body to a government hospital in Valsad for an investigation. Anand Bhusara, the victim’s father, filed a homicide complaint late on Tuesday evening.
The police detained Laxman Gavli, Raman Gavli, Sitabhai Gavli, Sunil Gavli, and Madhubhai Gavli, all members of the same village, on Wednesday in response to the complaint.
“Five people have been arrested after they were identified in a viral video.” “A few others will be arrested,” police officials from the Kaprada police station said.
