Parul Institute of Medical Science and Research that have received permissions for a total of 53 seats in 16 of its postgraduate departments which include General Medicine, Paediatrics, Dermatology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Anaesthesia, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology and Community Medicine It is Gujarat’s only college that will begin postgraduate studies in the current academic year 2021-22.
The institute has obtained permissions for the seats for the current academic year, which will go a long way toward supplementing the growing demand for highly trained medical experts in the field of medicine. With this addition, the total number of postgraduate seats (MD/MS) available in Gujarat will be around 1963.
“Parul Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is the only college in Gujarat that is offering postgraduate programmes this academic year,” said Dr. Geetika Madan Patel, Parul University’s Medical Director. “This year, the National Medical Commission granted our college one-year recognition for its undergraduate programme (MBBS). Because the number of postgraduate seats in Gujarat is still limited, and many MBBS graduates opt to pursue postgraduate or other fellowship programmes outside of the country or state, we intend to increase the number of postgraduate seats in the near future “, she continued.
The affiliated hospital of this Medical College, Parul Sevashram Hospital, is one of the few medical colleges in Gujarat to have full-fledged super-specialty departments that have been serving people’s medical needs in the areas of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, nephrology and urology, neurology and neurosurgery, paediatric surgery, and oncosurgery, among other general specialty departments.
The institute has been able to provide its medical students with the best medical training possible due to its well-developed healthcare infrastructure and expert medical resources.
