Gujarat reported 60 new Covid-19 cases for second straight day

For the second day in a row, Gujarat recorded 67 new Covid-19 cases, up 10% from 61 instances on Tuesday.23 in total, were from Ahmedabad. This is the state’s largest one-day total in five months.

There were 11 new cases from Surat, seven each from Jamnagar and Vadodara, four from Surat, three each from Banaskantha and Valsad, two each from Ahmedabad, Kutch, Navsari, and Tapi, and one from Vadodara. 72 %t of new cases were filed in municipal corporation regions.

While mortality and morbidity remain low in the city, experts say it’s time to be cautious. The rise should not be taken lightly, according to Dr. Bharat Gadhvi, head of the Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (AHNA). “On Wednesday evening, the number of people admitted to private hospitals grew slightly to 9, with one patient on a ventilator and another in an ICU. For the past four months, this number has not exceeded ten “he stated “Because this is the season of weddings and social gatherings, we strongly advise everyone to maintain social distance and wear masks at these events.”

With the release of 22 patients, the state’s active cases increased by 45, one of the greatest increases in recent memory, bringing the total number of active cases to 417. Since July 20, there has been a record number of active cases. Gujarat has vaccinated 3.35 lakh people in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses to 8.38 crore.

Officials also recommended anyone experiencing symptoms associated to Covid-19 to seek medical help as quickly as possible. According to a city-based infectious diseases specialist, now is the time to break the transmission chain, but only if infected people follow quarantine laws, correctly self-declare their status, and protect the safety of their loved ones.
