Every city police commissioner aspires for people-friendly policing at the grassroots level. However, officers rarely earn a place in the hearts of the people through their service. A video of a Gujarat Police officer receiving an emotional farewell pays tribute to his years of service and living by the Gujarat Police motto, “Seva, Surakhsha, Shanti.”
You may have seen a viral video on social media of a sub-inspector’s farewell which has received a lot of praise. Vishal Patel, PSI (Police Sub Inspector) of Khedbrahma, Gujarat, can be seen in the video saying farewell to a large crowd with folded hands and teary eyes.
The crowd had gathered to bid the officer goodbye and showered him with flower petals. The PSI can clearly be seen becoming emotional as a result of the gesture. Many people hugged Patel and asked for his blessing, with some even crying.
The video of the farewell went viral, with many praising the officer’s connection with the locals. Patel is credited with saving lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Naturally, Patel’s years of service earned him honours.
