The curtain-raiser event of the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, slated to be held in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, was held in New Delhi on Thursday.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who took part in the curtain-raiser event, invited leading industrialists to take part in the upcoming Summit and to invest in Gujarat. He also said Gujarat has emerged as a thriving and vibrant economy in the last two decades under the leadership of PM Modi.
“It was PM Narendra Modi who came up with the unique thought of organising Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in 2003. In less than two decades, the Summit has become a global knowledge-sharing and networking platform,” he said.
Being organised on the theme of “Atmanirbhar Gujarat to Atmanirbhar India”, the Summit will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi.
The chief minister said that Gujarat has emerged as the most preferred investment destination for national and global business houses. He noted that Gujarat had attracted $21.9 billion FDI in 2021, which was the highest in the country.
Patel spoke about Dholera Special Investment Region, Dedicated Freight Corridor, Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, GIFT City, Dream City, and other mega projects that are poised to take Gujarat’s growth to the next level.
Earlier in the day, Patel had one-to-one meetings with leading industrialists in the national capital. He met Maruti Suzuki India MD Kenichi Ayukawa, Avaada Energy chairman Vineet Mittal, PI Industries MD Mayank Singhal, JCB CEO Deepak Shetty, Urban Company CEO Abhiraj Singh Bhal, and others. Assuring them of full cooperation, Patel urged them to invest in Gujarat and create employment opportunities for locals. He also invited them to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.
He is slated to meet ambassadors and diplomats of other countries, the CMO said in a statement.
